It's medium to full-bodied, deep and powerful, with a multidimensional, fleshy core of fruit and youthful yet powdery tannins framed by a tense, energetic mid-palate, typical of the limestone soils. Spitzenweine: Bordeaux Superieur Alexandre und Aliénor de Malet Roquefort. Die Eigentümer des Grand Cru Classé Château La Gaffilière sind 2001 dem besonderen Charme des Château Chapelle Macaran erlegen: Gute Böden, eine alte Kappelle inmitten der Weinberge sollten für ein einfachen Wein genügen. Die gute Qualität der Weine überzeugte und 2009 erhielt das Château seinen heutigen Namen. Auf den Hügeln nahe Saint-Èmilion gelegenen umfassen die Weinberge 17ha, meist mehr als 40 Jahrer alte Reben, und profitieren von der hier vorhandenen außergewöhnlichen Anzahl an Sonnenstunden. Die Reben und die daraus entstehenden Weine genießen die gleiche Sorgfalt in Weinberg und Keller wie die auf La Gaffellière.
